[COFFEE] = A first for me - coffee from Congo!
Pretty cool to get to experience a bean from a new country for the first time.
If you’re a fan of the earthy Kenyan roasts, this tastes like a great Kenyan.
I’m a fan and would definitely drink this Hopscotch special edition again anytime. I have actually been drinking this instead of my Guji for the last few days. 😱 4.5/5
[MUSIC] = THIS!
Simple Man (Cover) by Kings of Leon and Chris Stapleton
[BOOKS]
I just re-listened to The Gold Standard by Ari Gold - the fictional Hollywood agent played by Jeremy Piven in Entourage.
I listen to these “rules to rule by” every year or so, just to keep from getting too soft.
It’s edgy, satirical, and hilarious. BUT, consider yourself warned: if you’re easily offended or don’t/didn’t like Entourage, don’t pick up this book.
If you did enjoy Entourage & Ari Gold, you will most likely love this book. Tons of gems.
Here are some other book recommendations that have come across my desk in the last few weeks. (Disclaimer: I have read ZERO pages in/of these.)
The Road to Audacity: Being Adventurous in Life and Work - by S. Carter
The Dangerous Edge: The Psychology of Excitement by Michael J. Apter
Endure by Cameron Hanes
Fortitude by Dan Crenshaw
Touch The Top Of The World by Erik Weihenmayer
The James H Cunningham Series: The Adventures of Buck Reilly (Book 1 = Red Light Return)
[PODCAST] =
My Fuel The Pursuit partner Mike Lum and I on were on the Hunt Harvest Health podcast with the legendary Ryan Lampers and his awesome wife Doc Hillary.
This 2-part episode was a blast to record. It also … went so long that my phone almost died! We got pretty close to Joe Rogan length… closer to 3 hours than 2 hours… but that was also du to the fact that we had 4 smart 4 people speaking, not just 2.
We talked about F*ck Your Feelings, Top Down/Bottom Up Regulation, HRV, Vagal Tone, and of course… backcountry hunting!
